For anyone to SEARCH for and find your Facebook fan page, or indeed your personal profile on Facebook s/he MUST be logged into Facebook. This implies that s/he would ALREADY have a Facebook account.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the great article! There’s no doubt that Facebook is Huge right now and is great for widely expanding any businesses fan base. I have been checking out some of the most customized pages…and I’m somewhat impressed. They are brighter and definitely different than your average Fan Page.

Bee Seen Creative Marketing Solutions creates these for clients. Like our name…we really are pretty creative! If for example, Harley-Davidson wanted a model on a Harley with the famous Harley noise riding around on a section of the page, I can do that! Or if VW want some people sitting IN a brand new VW laughing and playing with the features, I can do that too. Much cooler than just a flat video!
There is a market for this and I’d like to find more businesses that are interested in customizing their Facebook page in this way. It’s relatively inexpensive and pretty neat! What do you think?

Depending on scale and complexity of your product, there are “apps” that you should be able to install and configure without a developer. Payvment http://www.facebook.com/payvment seems to be the leader, but another new one is http://www.facebook.com/Vendorshop. Good luck.

I want to develop a FB page for my company, including the ability for users/fans/visitors to purchase my services from the FB page. Do I need a developer to create or is it simple and I can get the information directly from FB?

While we haven’t done any big brands as of yet, we have done custom fan page designs for a lot of small to mid-size businesses.
